Waves Festival 2015 – Who to see – Thursday

Hey Waves, let’s have a party!

Waves Vienna turns five this year. Five years of discovering your new favourite bands, late nights, weird and wonderful venues and dirty, stinking hangovers. In other words, five great years.

As with every Waves Festival the timetable can be a little daunting, the big names are now fewer and far between as it seeks to become one of the key festivals for showcasing new music. We’ve listened to all of them and picked out a few highlights which you should definitely not miss over the three days. But don’t expect to be able see everything you want to.

Listen to our playlist here

Hearts Hearts – 20:30 – Badeschiff

Melancholic, atmospheric electro-indie music at its best to start the weekend and have you deeply engrossed.

Granada – 21:00 – Porgy & Bess

The infectious “Palmen am Balkon” was one of the tracks of the summer, perfect reason to head to Porgy & Bess to relive what already feels like an eternity ago.

Ant Antic – 21:45 – Alte Post

Another masterclass in combining electro beats with hauntingly aesthetic sounds. Definitely worth checking out.

Pablo Nouvelle – 21:30 – Heuer

The producer from Switzerland has developed impressively over the last year or so and has some pretty fat tunes in his bag, just listen for yourself.

RDGLDGRN – 22.00 – Porgy & Bess

RDGLDGRN (pronounced red gold green) take hip-hop infused punk and indie rock to create something refreshingly unique using the Go Go drum beat – a distinct DC rhythm.

Mynth – 00:00 – Porgy & Bess

The Austrian duo will finish the night off in Porgy & Bess with their blend of electro-fusion-pop.
